LaserWorx is a laser cutting & engraving business, started in Knysna in early 2018. It is family-owned and family-run. The 'DC' in DCD is for Dave and Chris McRae - the father & son part of the team; and the second 'D' is for Debbie Young, Dave's partner-in-crime.

 

Dave acts as the technical and operational manager, Chris looks after our finances and admin and Debbie takes care of the design side of things. Together, we make an unstoppable team!

 

We pride ourselves on professional & personal service, beautiful designs and quality products. For us, it’s all about creating something that is beautiful and unique and surpasses the client's expectations! We specialise in custom-made and personalised designs and place emphasis on the perfection that laser cutting and engraving can produce. 
 

Our CO2 laser has a bed size of 1200 x 900 mm, which means that even though we have enough accuracy to delicately fashion a tiny earring; we also have to capacity to slice out signage letters or shapes up as large as a metre! 

 

Materials that we are able to work with include wood, mdf, perspex, acrylic, leather, cork, paper. We can cut up to a thickness of 8 mm, depending on the material. We can engrave on glass, anodised aluminium, mirror, leather...and if we can't do it, we will help you find someone who can!
